Dear Collectors, Manufacturers, Recyclers/Refurbishers and other E-Waste Stakeholders:
Illinois EPA is conducting an E-Waste program review as required by the Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act (415 ILCS 150). Section 20(j) of the Act requires Illinois EPA to solicit and review written comments and to hold a public hearing to present the findings and accept additional information. Please see the attached letter from Illinois EPA Director Bonnett for more details.
We ask that you complete a short survey to comment on major aspects of the E-Waste program.
Please note the following:
- You will be asked to specify whether you are a Collector, Recycler/Refurbisher, Manufacturer, etc., so we are able to analyze responses as they relate to each program user.
- Your name and email address are needed to verify submittals.
- The questions cover the existing requirements in the Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act as well as the changes stipulated in the recent legislation that passed the Illinois General Assembly.
- We recommend you take the survey from start to finish without delays to avoid the survey from timing out and clearing your answers. Your responses will not be recorded until you click Submit at the end of the survey. You should see a Thank You page indicating your responses have been submitted.
Please read the survey carefully and answer as fully as possibleby June 22, 2015. You will have additional opportunities to comment, but your initial feedback is essential for the next step in the program review - a public hearing.
The public hearing will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Illinois EPA in Springfield. More details to follow.
